Adding a Patron in WMS

 Check with your Circulation Team Leader or your library Director before creating a patron record.

Adding a patron in WMS can be accomplished two ways.  Both allow for a name search first before creating a new patron record.  The first way is through the Circulation tab and the second is through the Admin tab, both will bring you to the Create a Patron form.

The following fields are required to create a patron record:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Phone number (only for ESL records)
  • E-mail address
  • Barcode - starting with a T (must be capitalized)
  • Patron type i.e., Student, Staff, ESL, etc.
  • Expiration Date
  • Home Branch - select TCC Libraries

Expiration date will be set depending on the patron type.

  • Student, Faculty, Staff, Adjunct - add 2 years to the current date
  • OK Share - until the end of your current semester
  • Alumni & Friends - until the date on their Alumni card expires
  • ESL - until the end of the current year
  • All other patron options will need to be assessed by your Supervisor.

After the above fields have been completed, click the Create button on the bottom of the form.  This action will create and add the patron to WMS.

*Once a patron's account has been added to WMS, it cannot be deleted. Edits can only be made by going through the patron's account and selecting their profile tab.
