Checking Out Materials

Once you have pulled up a patron's record you can type or scan the barcode number of the book into the Enter barcode box.

Notice that underneath the list of items a patron has currently checked out there are four buttons that enable you to renew a book, change the due date, and change the status (only applicable if a patron claims they have returned an item or never checked it out in the first place).

The last button, which may display differently depending on which browser you use, is the receipt button. You can choose to print or email the patron a receipt for any books they have just checked out. Always email the patron a receipt, or print one for them if they so desire. 

NOTICE

Do NOT renew Interlibrary Loan (ILL) items for patrons. This is something they have to request on their own through their account. Staff cannot do it for them unless they have access to Tipasa. See the ILL tab of this guide.
