Variables and expressions
In this module you can learn what a variable is and how variables are used in algebra.

Order of operations
In this module you can learn what order you must use when you simplify algebraic expressions.

Expanding expressions with brackets
In this module you will learn how to remove the brackets from algebraic expressions.
For example, you'll study how to change 3(x - 2) into 3x - 6.

Exponent basics
In this module you can learn what exponents are and how to work with them.

In this module you can study how to work with square roots and cube roots.

Evaluating expressions
In this module you can study how to substitute numbers into algebraic expressions
For example, you'll study how to find the value of (x + 2y) when x=3 and y=5.

Evaluating a formula using substitution
In this module you can study how to substitute given values into a formula.
For example, you'll learn how to find the perimeter of a square (the formula for this is p=2w + 2l) when you know the width is 10m and the length is 20m.

Working with linear equations (equations with no squares or roots)

Solving one-step equations
In this module you will learn how to solve equations that take one step to solve.
These are examples of the types of equations you might work with: 3 = x + 1  or   x - 6 = 2   or   x/2 = 10.

Solving two-step equations
In this module you can study how to solve equations that take two steps to solve.
These are examples of the types of equations you might work with:   x/2 +4 = 6   or   2x - 9 = 11.

Solving multi-step equations
In this module you can study how to solve simple linear equations that take more than two steps to solve
You will work with more complicated equations, such as this one:   3(x+2)/10 +4 = 20

Transposition, or Solving for a variable
In this module you can study how to change an equation around so that any variable is by itself on one side of the equal sign.
For example, you will study how to change this P = 2W + 2L into this: W = (P - 2L) / 2
