Indian/Indic religions, encompassing "Dharmic religions," are religions that originated from or have roots in the Indian subcontinent (south Asia) such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainsim. Also featured are religions that may not have originated in this geographic region, but developed their own distinct branch or aspects when introduced. The UN's geoscheme for Asia also includes Iran in Southern Asia.
