CVTC 2103 - Invasive Procedures I

Designed to prepare the student to enter the invasive cardiovascular field. Introduces the construction and purpose of specialized equipment and its role in invasive procedures. Topics will include invasive cardiovascular equipment, specialized equipment and cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator implantation. Includes lab component.

  • Physiologic monitor system
  • Contrast power injector
  • Densitometer and sensitometer
  • Transducer brackets
  • Intra Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • Defibrillator
  • ECG, BP, and pulse oximeter monitoring system with electrodes
  • Pacing generator
  • Catheters (various)
  • Indeflators
  • Swan Ganz 
  • Manifolds 
  • Strain gauge transducers
  • Hemostats
  • Hemostasis devices (sandbags, c-clamps)
  • Vascular seal devices-Angioseal, Vasoseal, and Perclose
  • Rotablators
