Ok Share

Ok Share is an agreement between institutions to promote and facilitate access to information, between college communities.

The OK Share system is a reciprocal borrowing privilege to each other's faculty, students, and staff to grant access to materials that are not available at their home institution's library.

To obtain an OK Share card, you must fill out an agreement form and obtain a card from your institution’s library.

Issuing an OK share card to a student

Give the student an agreement form to fill out and sign.

Fill in the OK Share cards with the information from the agreement form and have it signed by a full time staff, librarian, or director.

The expiration date is till the end of the semester.

Give the student the card to take with them to show at the other institution.   Store the agreement form in a secure file in a room or file that locks.

Receiving a student from another institution

The student has borrowing privileges for two library items that check out for a two week period. Any other terms of borrowing will have to be approved by your immediate director.

You will create a new patron record following the same procedure to establishing a “new patron” record in WMS. (See Admin tab on adding new patron).

In the barcode space you will enter the abbreviated initials to their institution followed by their ID number.  An example is: OSU123456.

The expiration date in the new patron record is until the end of the semester.
