Borrowing takes place when the TCC Library requests an item from another institution for use by a TCC Library patron.
Interlibrary Borrowing:
A. Interlibrary loan services are made available to all currently enrolled students , faculty, and staff at Tulsa Community College and to members of the TCC Alumni and Friends Organization.
B. TCC library users may borrow materials not owned by TCC libraries. Material owned by TCC libraries may not be borrowed unless material is deemed missing.
C. TCC library users will be given advice on using reciprocal borrowing arrangements such as OK share and given options to get the item quicker such as checking local availability of the item at the public library.
D. TCC library borrower’s responsibilities:
1. An interlibrary request must be submitted by the patron on their library account.
2. There must be an indication of compliance with the Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S. Code) where required.
3. The Library pays all fees related to borrowing materials for TCC Library users.
4. Library users checking out material borrowed from other institutions are responsible for returning the material to the library no later than the established due date. Failure to return an item, or returning the item damaged, by the due date may result in fines or fee, including the lending locations replacement charge for the item. There will also be enrollment and transcript holds placed on the students account.
Lending takes place when the TCC Library loans an item to another library or institution for use by their patrons.
Interlibrary Lending:
The conditions of this service are set by the National Interlibrary Loan Code, 1994, and special agreements with other libraries. The reciprocal borrowing agreement is observed. Current year’s books are lent at the discretion of campus librarians. Reserve materials are not available for lending.
Materials which ordinarily circulate to library users may be sent out on interlibrary loan. Occasional exceptions are made for loan of other material. See Conditions of Service above.
A borrowing library must submit requests as set forth in D 1 of Interlibrary Borrowing.
Service will be provided as speedily and inexpensively as conditions permit.
