Physics: Scholarships, Universities & Careers

A guide to useful resources for Physics students.

Scholarships

Ragland Family Education Foundation Scholarship Program
The purpose of the Ragland Family Education Foundation Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to Oklahoma students with limited educational funding who want to obtain a college degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).

Society of Physics Students Scholarships
These awards are made to undergraduate physics students based on scholarship, SPS participation, and additional criteria.

Physics Programs at Oklahoma Universities

Northeastern State University: Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics
The Applied Physics program at NSU is a program that offers rigorous curriculum and flexible career choices. The program provides both fundamental courses that lead to a deep understanding of physics and hands-on courses where students learn practical technical skills.

Oklahoma State University Department of Physics
The Physics program at OSU prepares students to be competitive in a wide variety of career opportunities, ranging from science and engineering to law and business. Opportunities exist for specialization in a wide range of topics, including practical study in state-of-the-art research laboratories. The programs aim is to prepare students for useful and worthwhile careers in their specialty of choice.

University of Tulsa Department of Physics and Engineering Physics
TU's physics and engineering physics graduates receive a strong foundation in their particular major but, just as importantly, they also learn how to think. This places them in high demand as flexible problem solvers. After earning their undergraduate degree, many alumni pursue advanced degrees in physics, engineering or multidisciplinary programs such as nanotechnology or material science.

University of Oklahoma Department of Physics and Astronomy
Since 1909 the Department has had a tradition of educating scientists, engineers, and teachers who have distinguished themselves as leaders in industry and academia.

Careers

Careers in Physics
Physicists find employment in a variety of settings after earning their degrees--including high schools, government funded labs, on wall street, in medical physics facilities, and high tech industries, just to name a few.
