Caring Campus: CC Resources

Cultivating Connection in a Course Setting

IEBC

The Caring Campus Initiative, developed by the Institute for Evidence-Based Change (IEBC) is designed to create a college environment that increases students’ sense of connectedness and belonging and, in turn, completion of each student’s education goals.

What Can We Do?

  • Learn students' names.
  • Have break-out sessions and pair/share activities.
  • Set clear course expectations & provide early feedback.
  • Learn students' unique interests and goals.
  • Make yourself available to students: respond to emails promptly, accommodate schedules, encourage questions, and spend time getting to know them.
  • Listen to each student's situation and help them to be successful in their career path.
  • Encourage students to bring their full authentic selves to the classroom.
