Math Help: Radicals basics

Refresh your competency in the various areas of Mathematics.

RADICALS BASICS

In this module you can study radicals, such as square roots and cube roots.

The 11-minute video above is a long explanation of square roots and radicals. She starts by reviewing how to square a number. If you want to skip that part, start the video at 3:00.

This video demonstrates how taking a square root of a number is the opposite of squaring a number.

Did you know?

The number inside the radical sign is called the radicand.

Radicals are the inverse of exponents.  For example, to "undo" a square, you take the square root.
